We were recently asked to shoot a wedding with a reception at Barnsdale Hall.

Our brief was to be informal wherever possible, but to maintain our reputation for high quality images.

We hope you like this selection from the day.

Tender moments captured

I recently had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Dan and Corina.

The brief was to take high quality impact photographs but remain discreet and in the background.

The bride and groom were delighted with the photographs and album – I hope you like them too!

Bridal preparation – recommended for any album!

Discreet positioning during the service leaving the bride and groom relaxed and happy

Of course we mustn’t forget the groomsmen

AAA_2751

well – ok! – I may just have shouted to them to look back – I admit it! Bride and brother BTW

ALN_2762

So happy when couples don’t always look to the camera…

ALN_2774

An interesting effect  but couples don’t need to know how just enjoy the result

Couples agonise over the details – they must be shot!

A favourite from the day – what a great wedding!

A great wedding yesterday with Katie and Paul.

The wedding ceremony was held at Oakham Castle in Rutland in the east Midlands – well known to us as leading wedding photographers in Oakham for over 25 years

aaa_4371

The couple had asked for this to be  informal, relaxed wedding photography including the wedding reception at Greetham Valley Hotel

aaa_4633

Great fun was had by all – and the gorgeous backdrop of Greetham Golf Club helped with the reportage style

aaa_4559

OF course having such a lovely bride helped with the bridal portraits too!

Congratulations to Laura and Martin who were married this weekend at Halstead House, just over the border from Rutland and nudging in to Leicestershire.

aaa_3912

With two best men and two ushers Martin was sure to have a few laughs!

aaa_3925

Nothing could detract from the love that shone through

Halstead House (despite not being in Rutland – we will forgive them!) is a beautiful setting for a wedding:

Well yes – more than one at this wedding!
Saturday saw a brilliant weding at Bisbrooke Church in Rutland.

Fun and games in the garden….

More than one way to photograph bridesmaids…..

Sometimes it’s all in the timing of the shutter……….

Friday saw a beautiful wedding in Lincoln with a shoot in the grounds of Lincoln Cathedral.

We had already decided to keep things informal and relaxed – I hope this comes out in the images:

Of course a stunning bride and bridesmaids does help!

We have been shooting this way since 1989 – don’t let others tell you they “brought it to this country”

Congratulations to Katie and Edward who braved uncertain weather yesterday for a great wedding at Lyddington Church and then Normanton Park Hotel

December 27th saw a wedding at Oakham Castle followed by Normanton Park Hotel on the shores of Rutland Water.

Gemma and Richard were blessed with both fine weather and also snow left on the ground from a few days earlier.

As we set off for the photoshoot some visitors passed by complete with sledge – and we all thought the same thing!  The shot below has been accepted by a publication and we hope to see it in print soon headed “get me to the church on time”
Thank goodness for all those years spent working for newspapers armed with one camera, one lens and one flashgun expected to get great results regardless of the weather or the lighting.  Now that’s experience and knowledge you can’t just buy.
